I remember it well. There was an air raid shelter in the garden which was square shaped and enclosed by a covered shelter on three sides with the house on the other.
On the lawn close to the house was a WW1 air raid shelter in a mound shaped like a sausage.Older boys who sneaked into the garden would make it a game to sneak as far as the shelter without getting caught by the Springfield House owner.
The perimeter fence was part corrugated iron, part roofed. There was a path that followed close to the fence in a square.
